Ashlee Williss' seven-year career has been a successful and steady climb.
She has appeared in magazines worldwide, as well as on E Channel's "the Girl's
Nextdoor," James Blunt's music video 1973, MTV's dating show "Next"
and currently on ABC's "the Bachelor" (London Calling). Her first single Bad
Weather, debuted on the TeenFaces.com Teen Top 20 Chart.
Co-produced by Ashlee, along with tracks done with Tim Coons, Guy Walker, Warren Huart and
Rick Parker, the demo is a collection of songs that have a personal meaning to Ashlee. The
direction is something that could impact at Hot AC, CHR, AAA and with the right promotion
cross over to Country radio.
With a naturally strong voice and a sound that hypnotizes, it's only a matter of time
before she becomes a household name. But that's not exactly what Ashlee wants. "I
just love singing. From the recording process to the live shows, I enjoy every part of
what I do." Those who work with Ashlee know her desire to grow as a musician, as a
singer and as a song writer is unwavering. Being more than just a singer will be the key
to her success.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ashlee's family moved to Jacksonville when she was three
years old. The voices of LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain and others fueled her aspirations. Says
father Jack: "Once she stood up in front of her entire elementary school and sang
Trisha Yearwood's She's in Love with the Boy with no music. I don't think many
people in this world have that kind of belief in themselves at such an early age, if at
all." Others noticed too, including her co-manager. "I met Bethany at my dance
studio she was teaching drama and voice," remembers Williss. " I just sang for
her one day and she said 'Wow! What are you doing here? This isn't where you belong.' So I
started taking lessons from her, and I started performing at different places all over,
venues and showcases. I just wanted to be on stage. I felt comfortable on stage. I just
loved it. Ever since then, I was like 'This is what I want.'"
"I think its all exciting," she says of her currently busy schedule.
"I mean, its all about hard work. I think the challenge is fun. I dont
think itll ever stop being fun." Whatever happens, though, Williss will always
be most happy on stage, singing.
